Ken Min Lau (b.1981) is a Chinese Australian artist whose work explores the tension between organic form and mechanical structure. With more than fifteen years of shaping visual worlds for film and television, he approaches art-making with a practised understanding of design logic, narrative structure and technical precision.
His work develops abstract forms that behave like components of imagined mechanisms, with articulated planes, shifting structures and fragments of larger systems. His process moves between drawing and digital construction, allowing intuitive gestures to develop into spatial and sculptural possibilities.
